Follet Inventory question

Hi,
This is my first year taking inventory.  I have a few questions I need
answered before I start.  We are using Follett, so I don't know if the
answers are specific to Follett's system, or applicable to all systems.
I appreciate any guidance you can collectively provide.

I have a selection of  books to weed- should I delete them from the
catalog before I start inventory?  I will be using the PHD dolphin
scanner, and I thought it had a delete function.  I used it once before,
but now I can't find that function again.  When I deleted using it
before, it just deleted the barcode number, not the title record.  I had
to go back into the catalog and individually delete the title
information.

If I just delete the information directly from cataloging, then each
book I delete generates it's own exception report.  Usually I like to
look to those, but with the volume of books to weed, I don't need
individual exception reports.  Is there a way to lump all the weeded
reports together?
