In a message dated 11/2/2003 4:42:53 PM Central Standard Time, rderva@INFIONLINE.NET writes: In the past few weeks I have had occasion to look up older library books to see if they were still in print. In two cases, the books were indeed out of print but available. The bookseller sources listed both stated that the used books were formerly owned by school libraries. Some even include plastic covers! I guess there is life after the school library for some books. There is indeed a market for some school library books - I sell on Amazon, E-Bay and half.com and it's a tidy part time business. And no, I don't sell the books from my library! I get my stock at friends of the library booksales and thrift stores. However our Director of Library Services is investigating if our school district can hold a sale and use the funds raised to fund our own libraries. Currently they are sold by the pallet at auction.
