I have found Bound To Stay Bound MUCH better than any of the rebound
paperbacks, such as Econoclad or Permabound, because they rebind hardcover
books that start out with much better quality paper. The Econoclad bindings
may not fail, but the cheap paper used in the mass market paperbacks they
use will quickly get brittle and yellow. They soon disintegrate. BTSB on
the other hand, will last through just about any number of circulations, and
the the paper remains white and supple. The only criticism I have heard,
although I never experienced it in my books, is that they sometimes do not
leave enough white space in the gutter of really thick books.
I buy everything I can from BTSB, going to other vendors only if they do not
have a book I want.
