HELP! Grinch and copyright question

I need help!  I am hoping that this wonderful group of people can help me
out on this.  My elem. school is having a Family Reading Night on December
4.  In the past we always had someone dress as Santa and the kids had thier
picture taken with Santa.  This gave us a little bit of money to help fund
the next Reading Night.  We have 2 a year.  This year we wanted to have
pictures with the Grinch.  We thought this would be really fun and
different.  I just realized this morning that this is most likely copyright
infringement.  Is there anything I can do?  What if we do not make money off
of it, can we still do it?  Also, who do I contact to ask for permission?
Of course I need to find out as soon as possible.  I should of thought of it
sooner, but we were all too excited.  I even convinced my husband to dress
up as the Grinch!  Thank you in advance!
