Dear Resourceri:
I was ready to break down and finally buy a PDA, so I went to the Dell
website to choose all the features I wanted. One of the options they offer is
a barcode scanner!!!???
OK, I understand why I need a scanner on my circ station and even on
my office computer for cataloging, but what could I do with a barcode
scanner on my PDA? I immediately got excited about inventory
possibilities, but then realized, without my automation software being
loaded on my PDA (which is not a possibility), what good could it do me?
We just got up and running with Horizon, but that certainly is not PDA
software!
Is anybody out there using a barcode scanner on their PDA? If so, for
what purpose? And with what software? (Can you tell I'm dying to buy
one, if I could just figure out what to do with it?) :}
Thanks for any suggestions, or especially for concrete examples with
specifics!
