Dear All,
I inadvertently started this thread (once again) when I
told of my experience looking up an older book on Amazon. At that time I
mentioned that the book was out of print but I was offered an opportunity to buy
a used copy from a California reseller.
The book, Be Nice to Josephine by Horvath, arrived
last night. It was stamped by the Sacramento County Schools, Library and
Textbook Services. It has an accession number a book
pocket stamped Fair Oaks School Library as well as a date due
slip indicating that the book that it was circulated last in
1997. No where does one see a DISCARD stamp or any other indication that it was
removed from the collection.
If I were a taxpayer in this town I might be concerned
that this book was stolen from the school library.
Incidentally, I purchased this book as a joke as the title
contains my first name. I ran across it at another district library and thought
it was cute if somewhat dated (1970 copyright).
