I was excited to see that the U of I Champagne-Urbana had an online
doctoral program, but when I went to check the info on the website I saw
this....

"Doctoral students in GSLIS are required to be in residence for two full
years of the program. In addition to taking classes and carrying out
individual research projects, all students are expected to attend talks,
meet with international visitors, and participate in GSLIS-sponsored events."

Too good to be true I suppose.
