HIT - Error in Text of book

Many of you asked which book had the error and what I was doing.....

The book is "The 1990s" by Stuart Kallen from the series published by Lucent
entitled "A cultural history of the United States through the decades".  I
spoke with a managing editor ar Lucent who was pretty casual about the whole
thing. She, at first, said that it was an old series (this volume was published in
1999) and IF it gets reprinted they would correct the error. Otherwise she
isn't sure how many copies they have left....
I was not happy with this response. I told her that the series is in their
latest Fall, 2003 catalog and since the decades are ALWAYS studied, they MUST
put correction slips in all unsold books and not wait until it MIGHT get
reprinted.  I emphasized that I was encouraging her to do so especially because this
is such a sensitive issue and now that they know about the error, it CANNOT be
ignored.

She will contact me when they have a decision on this issue.

I wasn't looking for great thank-yous, just a more professional response.
