Oh wise ones, My library aide is trying to recall the title of a book she read in the late 40's and early 50's (when she lived on a Navy base in Seattle and checked it out over and over from the bookmobile!) She remembers that it's the story of a little girl's dolls and dollhouse and the dolls came alive at night. She's sure there was a "negro mammy doll with a red head kerchief" who was in charge of the dollhouse when the dolls were alive. The father doll wore a suit. The little girl took the dolls on a picnic one time. She would very much like to find this book to share it with her granddaughters. Any ideas? I have checked Novelist and have come up empty so I am turning to you! If anybody can help me I know you can. Thanks in advance.
