In This Issue: Please Thank Your Senators!

On September 24 a group of Senators sent a letter to Senators Specter
(R-PA) and Harkin (D-IA), of the Subcommittee on Labor, Health and
Human
Services and  Education, asking them to show their support of
libraries
by voting for the higher House funding levels in the
Labor-HHS-Education
Appropriations Conference.  This appropriations bill includes the
Improving Literacy Through School Libraries program, the Library
Services and Technology Act (LSTA), and the Museum Services Act. The
Senators who signed on to this important letter are listed below.
Please
check the list, and please thank the Senators who did sign onto the
letter for working to support library programs and funding.
