I am a student teacher (school media specialist) who is trying to come up with a lesson plan featuring Margaret Peterson Haddix, who will be visiting several of our schools. For fourth through sixth grade, I would like to introduce her books in some unique fashion. I was thinking of some kind of activity that ties into real life, as Haddix is a former newspaper reporter and her books do revolve around real places or situations. Does anyone have any tips or suggestions? I will have each 4, 5, and 6 grade class for two library periods, 50 minutes each. Thanks! G.
