We are getting a new student, a 6th grade boy, tomorrow who has just arrived in the U.S. from Turkey and does not speak any English. Apparently he does have a translating dictionary to help him in school but I would like to learn some general phrases so we can communicate a little with him. He is very nervous about attending school in America and we'd like to make this as painless as possible for him. If anyone can send me some general words or phrases that we might use with him (including pronunciation), I would be most grateful. Thanks! /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ Brenda Young, Library Media Specialist Rose Hill Elementary Omaha, NE 554-6797 brenda.young@ops.org =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=- All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
