Our school's library is in the final stages of renovation. To my disappointment our shelves and cabinetry are made of particle board with a laminate covering. It appears that this material will, over the long haul, chip and the laminate strip off of the front of the shelves. Some shelves which are 1 inch think are already developing a "bend" in them with only paperbacks on them. Please share with me any experience with such particle board shelving. I was expecting real wood which was in the previous library. Any input from those with experience in this area will be greatly appreciated. Thanks a million!
