Just curious, do public libraries and school libraries work together with
database subscriptions? Does duplication exist? Are libraries wasting
precious dollars?

For example, I've noticed that many public libraries subscribe to eLibrary
(and others) and make it available remotely. Why would a school want to
pay for a subscription if it's already available for students from their
local public lib?

For example, here in the DC area, the Fairfax Cty offers eLibrary. I also
noticed that eLibrary is available to Fairbanks, Alaska Public Library.
