TARGET: "Cool" African American Fiction for High School

I really need somes suggestions on some African American fiction titles.  The 
girls, especially, are always looking for new titles.  The Coldest Winter ever is 
the hottest book in this Media Center for the past few years but quite honestly I 
would not order it again due to its content.

I need some suggestions of titles that are contemporary, but not "corny". The girls 
don't really like the Sharon Draper stuff or the Omar Tyree.  It is a dilemma--I 
want to have some titles that are appealing to them but do not want stuff that is 
not appropriate.   I would appreciate suggestions.  Thanks in advance.
