Couldn't agree more with you. Sorry someone felt it was necessary to be rude
to you offline. No one here wears any power suits either -- one would be
filthy by the end of the day with dust, chalk dust, and worse.

Our principal (male) is always in a suit as is our president (male). The
Dean of students only wears a power outfit if she is in front of the whole
school in the auditorium. The VP ususally wears dress blouse and skirt. Our
one remaining religious sister (SSND) wears a pants suit or blouse, skirt or
slacks.

We dress "professionally" but also for comfort. The big push is also that we
always have our badge on -- for security reasons, etc. The some complained
that their first names were on the badge - but our students are usually very
respectful and I've never heard a student address a teacher by her/his first
name.
