Gen: Author Visit--Carol Gorman

Good morning,

Author Carol Gorman (Dork in Disguise, Lizard Flanagan, etc.) visited our
4-5th grade elementary building and our 6-8th grade middle school, and I
HIGHLY recommend her. She captivated our students with her book talks,
explained her process as a writer, and emphasized the importance of reading
in honing one's craft as writer. Carol also held a writer's workshop with 33
of our 6th-8th graders on the topic of "Voice." Her background as a middle
school language arts teacher shone through, not only in the presentation
portion, but also in the question and answer part of her talk. We booked
Carol through one of our fellow 'netters, (please forgive the spelling here)
Sharon McLemeel, of McBook World fame. The booking was a breeze and the
informational packet that was sent to us was very helpful in preparing our
students and staff for Carol's visit.
