Correct me if I'm wrong... isn't Media Literacy dealing with making students aware of the manipulations of the media (newspapers, tv, radio, advertisements, etc.) to get consumers to think, feel, buy as instructed by them as opposed to our Library Media and Information Literacy? I seem to recall someone in New Mexico who had developed a program called this. I saw him at a educational tech conference years ago. I'd find you a link, but I have to get to school. If the professor is writing a book about this "Media Literacy," it is appropriate to have a section dealing with how library media teachers address this particular subject. As we teach evaluating websites and other reference sources, we do this. -- Barbara Adams Currier K-6 Library Media Teacher Kirschen/Shackelford Elementary Schools Modesto City Schools Modesto, CA, USA http://www.monet.k12.ca.us/kirschen bacurrier@charter.net -------------------------------------------------------------------- All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
