Sorry - I didn't think this was a controversial thing... But I appreciate
your discussion...

Barbara, you're right about the focus of this particular book - it is written
by someone who attended the New Mexico Media Lit Project's institute and
there are contributions from several of the most well known people in this area.
All I am doing is talking about how the librarian/media specialist can help to
address media literacy. There are more *short* "perspectives on media
literacy" contributions from teachers, parents, administrators, etc.

I was actually excited that the professor wanted to hear from our camp. Like
Shonda mentioned, we do a lot of complaining that we're overlooked or
forgotten by "others" in education. I viewed it as a chance to let all of those
future
students (who may or may not use this in a class) know about how the library
is a great place and a helpful place and a little more about what we do.

I, too, went to OU for my MLIS - I know how to take an opportunity to let
everyone know that your librarian is always on the cutting edge and can do
anything!!!
