LM_NET Archive



_David and the Phoenix_ by Edward Ormondroyd. First published in 1957 and reprinted 
in 2000(Purple House Press).

I remember reading it in 3rd or 4th grade (58-59) and the next books I can remember 
reading were Sewell's _Black Beauty in 4th or
5th and Hemingway's _Old Man and the Sea_ in the 6th grade. So it must have made 
quite an impression! I reread Phoenix when
republished and it was an interesting revisit. It is a bit heavy handed.
