Well, I continue to live and learn. I apologize to all--again. It seems = that the Columbus Dispatch does charge for access to their website. And = I would say that since this is a copyrighted article I can't share it. = (If that is not true, please correct me!) They do have a facility to = email from the site, but it says one can email only to Dispatch = subscribers! Basically, this is what the article says. There are many striking = similarities found between the movie The Village and Running Out of Time Haddix fans noticed first, speaking up via e-mail and online message = boards. She hasn't seen the movie yet, but will be going to see it = tonight. She has been advised by her publisher not to comment. Some = similar points mentioned are: the time periods are close (1840 and = 1897); both feature young girls who are tomboys; both communities are = urgently in need of modern lifesaving medication; adults in both are = keeping a secret from the children. There is some discussion of why = copyright infringement is difficult to prove.=20 Gene Shalit gave The Village a scathing review this morning on the Today = show! I think this will be an interesting case to watch. Connie W. Welch, Librarian O.L.P.H.
