I received some terrific responses to my TARGET of how to promote the
library to grades K-7 with an extremely small budget.
Thanks to those who provided these great suggestions.

Guessing contests for students with no overdue materials-
guess the weight of a pumpkin (holiday theme)
guess how many fish(crackers) are in the tank
guess the mystery book from given clues

Activities for Teen Read Week, Read Aloud Week, etc.

Have the entire school read the same book or group the grade levels for more

appropriate book selections - During a given month, the entire school reads
the assigned book - The event ends with a night of activities set up at
stations (recycled art, lit circles, etc.)

Target new books to students who will read them and share the story with
others - then they will want to read the book

Do a book talk over the PA - Pose a question and have students place their
answer in a drop off box

Author of the month

Theme of the month

Issue book bucks for books read - students exchange the bucks for an item
from a treasure chest of pencils, bookmarks, etc.
