I have read this book to students as young as 2nd grade. The langauge
is beautiful. Of course I explain occassionally. But everyone gets
something out of the story. I have tried to find illustrations and a
video, but everything I have found doesn't due the words justice. It is
truly a read aloud for all ages.

Our 7th graders just went on a field trip to an old theater in
downtown
Lakeland to see a play of Gift of the Magi, they go every year and they
seem
to love it. The old theater has stars on the ceiling. they also read
the
story in their literature book and watch an old movie that we have.
