I have read this book to students as young as 2nd grade. The langauge is beautiful. Of course I explain occassionally. But everyone gets something out of the story. I have tried to find illustrations and a video, but everything I have found doesn't due the words justice. It is truly a read aloud for all ages. The old theater has stars on the ceiling. they also read the story in their literature book and watch an old movie that we have.
