[LM_NET] Do you know this book?

Hello everyone,

I am trying to find the title of a book that a friend is looking for.  It is
a book from her youth about a boy who was hit by a car (?) and while in a
coma or a dream he acted like a cat.   However, he did not know how a cat
was to act so he somehow gets the information from a cat.  I know that's
vague.   Any ideas?
