Thank you Robert - a well-thought out set of arguments which, I believe,
raises some very valid points including fact vs opinion and developing a
rubric to evaluate the products to see what will work best for your
students.

I particularly liked the point about not having a class set of flashlights
when the power went down, and 26 volumes are no good if everyone wants M!
And the hours I have spent on the Net following hyperlinked leads on a topic
that are relevant to my original inquiry rather than their only link being
in the same alphabet range.

One issue that doesn't seem to have arisen in the discussions is the
accessibility to constant updates of articles which the online version
allows.  My print WB still has New York with the twin towers - to change it
I have to update the whole set.

I am yet to be convinced that I need to spend a third of my budget on a
print set, especially when my students do not use them often.
