I have been doing a unit on Kansas history, etc. with my elementary students, and every year they ask the same thing. We Kansans call ourselves Jayhawkers, but what do other state residents call themselves? I know Ohioans are 'Buckeyes', Indianans are 'Hoosiers', we call Oklahomans 'Sooners', but are there names like this for every state? Also I thought at one time I remember there is a literary term for this. Anyone remember what it is? koontzs@hit.net K-12 Librarian Sedan KS =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-==-=-=- All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
