I have spent many hours trying to find a definitive list of the
favourite classic love stories available in English (thank you to those
who responded to me, your suggestions were not quite what I had in mind)
- so I will turn to the experts - how about we make our own up?
Send me your suggestion (or two or three or more) of the literary love
stories that you feel should be on the list of the all time greats -
modern or classic.
I will post a hit of the titles and authors and date of publication if
known and then the list will be available for next year.
My suggestions are....
The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorn (1850)
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen (1813)
Emma by Jane Austen
Senes and Sensibility by Jane Austen
Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte
Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare
