I was a former elementary librarian at No. Pembroke, MA, but now I am working
hourly in an inner-city elementary school in Boston. Currently, I have
catalogued about 1000 books by hand (ugh!); I have weeded the old library of its
dilapadated 1960 books, and am trying to reconcile the current shelflist with
what remains. At this point, I feel if I have one author card per book as my
shelflist, I should be OK. Does anyone see a down side to this strategy? The
goal is to get a working library up and running where none now exists. A very
tedious job, but the end result will be rewarding. Thoughts? Comments?
Thanks. Mandy McDevitt, LMS, Lucy Stone School, Boston, MA
