Request for Australia websites

The 8th grade class at my school will be reading "Tomorrow, When the War
Began" and I would like to come up with a scavenger type webquest to introduce
them to some aspects of australia. We want to look at things like goverment,
allies, topography, culture, etc.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.
