Hi, I have been implementing Reading Renaisance at my school for a number of = years. I have seen motivation to read, discussion and recommendation of = books, and reading increase greatly. However, the state test scores for = my school are not reflecting this love of reading. We are a Reading First School. I am being told that "Using AR is not an = accepted program for reading first." The program is being bad mouthed = quite severely but I really don't believe those doing this truly know, = or care to know, how it works. What I am asking is this: If you are a reading first school allowed to = use the Accelerated Reader/Reading Renaissance method (and it has been = determined by your district that it meats the scientifically based = criteria) please let me know. Thank you so much.
