Friends, Happy New Year! There is still time to send me your choices for the best children's books published in 2003. BY WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 7, send your favorites to me indicating their interest levels. I will post the final list on Friday, January 9, to anticipate the Newbery and Caldecott announcements on the 12th. My survey of LM_NETTERS has netted, so far, 22 respondents and three messages seen on the list. The result is a haul of 128 titles, Primary to YA. Some titles have been mentioned more than once, so I'll star those. I'm not surprised at the fact that most answers don't duplicate each other. I found when I surveyed a class or grade for their favorite books (which I often did), very few children mentioned the same book. Readers have such a range of tastes and needs!
