I give grades to all 275 of my K-8 students, but since I only see them once
per week, I felt that I could not justify a letter grade--how do you decide
between an A and a B with only 2 or 3 written assignments. I now give
exceeds, meets, or does not meet criteria, by a plus, a check, or a minus
sign. The students and parents still want grades, but letter grades are not
justifiable. This satisfies all concerned.
