SEC: Opinion of a title, please

Dear wise ones;

I have recently read the book, "The Creek" by Jennifer L. Holm.

There are certain aspects of it that I find disturbing so that I am not
sure I want to add this title to my high school collection.  One of my
assistants has read it and did not find the same problem--at least to the
same extent.  So, what to do?

I decided to tap the collective wisdom of LM_NET to see what you all thought.
