"Verifying facts with a print resource"
Or with an expert, reliable electronic sources like on-line paid subsciption
encyclopedia or a companion website to print resource like almanac,
dictionary, magazine . Many are updated more frequently and keep and
corrections online, so could be MORE accurate than the print source.

"Author or editor"
With link to verifiable vita or bib. Or google the name.

"Abundance of pop up ads"
Part of the 'where housed' piece, but also fits to looking at Design (does
site use pop-ups effectively?), which also would look at Navigation (links
work? Are they obvious? Make sense? )

I would add:

Look for purpose of site. Inform or persuade or parody?

Site or info page (especially if a personal page) should have some
information on resources used (links, bib, etc).

Overall design (color combos, fonts, layout, graphics, etc)

UC Berkeley Library has a good set of pages on using internet, their
evaluation one is at
http://www.lib.berkeley.edu/TeachingLib/Guides/Internet/Evaluate.html

Also look at Binghampton University Library's The A B C Ds of
Evaluating Internet Resources
