Hello: This is my first time of sending out a request so hopefully I am = doing this right. I am involved in "setting up" a totally new library for a small = high school. One of the parents of a student has agreed to write a grant = request for us for some books, but she needs some more guidelines.=20 What I would like to know from some of you and is "what percentage = of your budget do you put into each subject area?" For instance--do you = put 15% into history and 10% into science, etc. etc. or do you just go = equal across the board? I know that many schools do a dewey number or a = subject heading each year, but since we are just starting up I don't = want to do that. Any help that any of you can give me would be truly = appreciated! I have also been told that there is a publication (possibly = through ALA) that lists how many books that are published in each = subject area each year. I have not been able to find such a list--so if = any of you have heard of it or know where I can find it--I would = appreciate that also!
