Hi!

A belated thank-you to everyone who sent ideas for my
Internet research presentation. I didn't get to thank
everyone individually, but I really appreciated the
ideas and support from LM_NET. The presentation was
successful, and I've been seeing a few more eighth
graders in the library doing research - yay!

Two teachers came to me this week with books they
remember, and I'm stumped. I know they'll be
tremendously impressed if I can come up with the right
books, so here goes. :)

1. A second-grade teacher is looking for a picture
book or story about a girl who is mute, probably by
choice. She is in a house that's on fire, and she can
save everyone if she just shouts.

2. A kindergarten teacher remembers a picture book
about a squirrel in the fall. The squirrel doesn't
want the leaves to fall off the trees, and he glues
and tapes them back on.

Do these ring any bells for anyone? Thanks as always
for your help!
