Oh Great and Wise Knowledge Base. I would like to call on your
collective expertise. I am updating some teacher resources on the topic
of electronic cheating - not plagiarism, but cheating on tests. Do you
know of any devices that can be used by TEACHERS to detect if students
are sureptitiously using electronic devices such as cell phones, pagers,
pds's etc. in the room? It is all well and good to ban such items. It
is quite another to know if a student might be hiding something in a
pocket or a waistband. What can a teacher do? I know that movie
theatres showing the new Harry Potter movie were equipped with goggles
or some such thing so that the ushers could detect if anyone was using
electronic devices to pirate a copy of the film.

I would appreciate the names of any such devices and/or specific web
sites. articles, etc. --- or even some suggested search strategies. I
am not having any luck coming up with anything. But I feel there must
be something out there. Thanks for your help!
