Book title help

I'm looking for the title of a book fitting the following description.
Can anyone tell me the title of the book?

The book was read as a fifth grader in 1985.  Aliens land on earth and go
to the library to find out what kind of planet they've landed on and what
sort of people they will have to conquer.  Well, what book do they check
out, but Mother Goose.  They can't believe the strange, strange planet
they've landed on, where eggs fall off walls, and soldiers try to put eggs
together again.  They abandon the project and earth is saved.  Is the book
called The Book that Saved The World?  Is it a play?  Does it have an
author?
