    Arlington Central School District, a growing and respected district
in Dutchess County, is located in the beautiful Mid-Hudson Valley of
NYS, about 90 miles north of NYC and about 90 miles south of Albany.
    Presently, eight elementary schools, one high school and another
middle school comprise the rest of the district. We will be opening
Union Vale Middle School and Vail Farm Elementary School in
September.    We have an opening for a Library Media Specialist in
Arlington Middle School (Grades 6-8).
    Arlington Middle will have a population of approximately 600
students.   The library consists of a large space that accommodates
teaching and research as well as an office.  The library is adjacent to
one of two computer labs, allowing collaboration with the computer teacher.
    The library is fully automated (Follet 6.0).  Computers are
connected to a local area network that includes word processing,
databases, math and science applications and Internet access.  Teachers
and students may access OPAC from any station in the building.
    One aspect that sets our Library Media Specialists apart is our
collaboration and strong commitment to communication.  We are looking
for an energetic library media specialist with an interest in passing on
a love of literature and reading, as well as in aiding students develop
proficiency for lifelong learning.
