I, too, wondered why they didn't use the furniture.  Did they think the
finish would produce toxic fumes?=20

My son thinks it was a deliberate message - they burnt what they didn't =
feel
was necessary - especially the tax codes... and saved the most =
important-

As I was watching the movie this weekend with my daughter
my mind kept wondering (and wandering), "Why aren't they
burning furniture?"
Books would make a good firestarter but undoubtably those
big wooden chairs and tables would have made a warmer more
substantial fire.  Surely we are not more savvy than the
Hollywood Think Tank (an oxymoron perhaps?)  I suppose the
lure of cart transportability made those bright but myopic
young people head for the stacks.
