6th grade teachers in my school do a big research project on topics dealing with
space and I've just realized why the research isn't happening in the library...
wow! these books are OLD! (It's not completely my fault... it's just my second
year here). I'm now surrounded by piles of old science books from the early 80's
that need to be replaced.

Does anyone have any favorite non-fiction series, reference sets, or even
individual titles your teachers have found indispensable on stars, planets, black
holes, space exploration, etc. that you would recommend replacing some of my
outdated books with? I have grades 5-8 here, and it's 6th grade that primarily
uses these books.

If you respond to me, rather than the list, I'll be happy to share with anyone else
who's interested. I know this is a bad time of year to be making this request!

PS-- I did get them to come in and use EBSCO to find current information on these
topics from magazines, and that worked great, but I'd still like to have books for
them, too!
