Apologies for taking so long to post this hit. I received six responses =
to
my original target.=20

The website I had visited that didn't include high school battles was
http://www.battleofthebooks.org/. One LM-Netter let me know that there =
is a
web site at http://www.battleofthebooks.com that includes a high school
section. Personally, I wasn't thrilled with the selection of books at =
the
.com site, but it would be nice to already have the questions and format
already prepared for us.

One person suggested using the Printz Award books for our reading list =
if we
developed our own battle. They look like a much better selection than =
what
is available at the .com site.

So...for those of us that were interested in designing our own BofB (and =
we
would be international--one person was from Australia!) and for others =
who
would be interested, let's first examine the two websites cited. E-mail =
me
back to let me know if you would prefer to:

1) Go with the .com website that already has a high school program set =
up.

2) Contact the .org website to see if we could join with them (however, =
they
are specifically national so that would rule out letting our Australian
friends participate).

3) Start work now to develop our own International High School Battle of =
the
Books. I'd be happy to draft by-laws and such and put them on a website =
for
your review.

Other details: One person wanted to know if we could work with our =
English
departments in developing this. I think this would be a good idea and we
could discuss it further as we proceed (if we decide to proceed).=20

Let me know what you want to do! I promise not to take so long =
responding
next time.
