While we got a few suggestions for books to use to locate our 1900 census figures (things like The Value of a Dollar and the other related books by this publisher), the teacher was really looking for a website. We finally located this one, which has some information from a number of historical US census' and is easy to use: Historical Census Browser http://fisher.lib.virginia.edu/collections/stats/histcensus/ Click on the decade you want to research. Then select the data you would like from the lists. Highlight each piece of data you would like. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click on “Browse (year) data”. The result will be a table listing each piece of data you selected broken down by state. At he bottom you will find the total for the US. While it doesn't contain everything, there is enough to work with. "I think I have discovered the source of all my problems... You see, all of my life I have been told to think outside the box.. So...just where is this box, and why are they trying so hard to keep us out?" - Agnes, at http://today.excite.com/toonfunview/id/1|-1.html Mrs. Carolyn Gierke, Librarian Sweet Home High School 1901 Sweet Home Road Amherst, NY 14228 Phone: 1-716-250-1227 FAX: 1-716-250-1360 email: cgierke@shs.k12.ny.us ************************************************************************************************** The contents of this email and any attachments are confidential and privileged.
