I have tried the Bone series and Groo at my library and they are becoming
popular with my 5th grade boys so would probably work at the middle
school. But they are probably not what you mean as comic books. They are
in a 6 x 8" format and are about 1/2" thick per book. (I'm not at school
looking at one so that's the best I can do to describe them.)
