Congratulations!! I am looking forward to reading the article. And I am not the least bit surprised that you have achieved this goal! Jacquie "The Librarian, whose job is to heal ignorance, to keep life safe for poetry and to put knowledge smack dab in the middle of the American way." From The Philadelphia Inquirer, 9-20-03 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Jacquie Henry, MLS Ruben A. It's called "Plagiarism-Proofing Assignments" and mentions library media specialists as people who can help build research assignments that ask for higher level thinking skills and cites Duncan and Lockhart's wonderful book _I-Search, You Search, We All Learn to Research_. As honored as I feel when published by Library Media Connection, School Library Journal, Teacher-Librarian, or Multi-Media Schools, this one feels a little different. An article in Kappan has always been sort of the Mt. Everest of writing for me. I hope you don't mind my celebrating the attainment of this long held professional goal with you, my friends, on LM_Net. Thanks to all of you for the ideas and information you share on this list that so often spur my thinking and writing, All the very best, Doug ************ Doug Johnson Director of Media and Technology I.S.D. 77, Mankato Public Schools Box 8713, Mankato MN 56002-8713 Voice: 507-387-7698, Fax: 507-387-2496 E-mail: dougj@doug-johnson.com Web: www.doug-johnson.com "We must be the change we wish to see in the world."
