GEN:Unbelievable happening in MD

I just came from my county national board meeting. We were helping the =
ones who have their portfolios due in a few weeks and discussing ways to =
recruit others to the process.  The new staff development person who has =
been put in charge of coordinating all of this shared that she had just =
been to a state meeting and they announced that they would not provide =
the state matched stipend anymore for library media or guidance. She =
went on to say that because of this the county would not offer =
scholarships to library media specialists or guidance counselors. I was =
so mad I almost walked out of the meeting. I am planning to make some =
phone calls tomorrow, but to me this is a slap in the face!!!
