Dewey Decimal System?

Yesterday, I was introduced to a new member of our school
administration.  After glancing at the shelves, she told me that she had
heard that K-8 school libraries were doing away with the Dewey Decimal
System.  I was caught off guard and feeling stupid!  Should I be pulling
off my spine labels and moving to LC labeling, or something?  Any
information on this would be much appreciated!  Thank you. =20
