Look in the index for Historical documents, in the Fourth Edition of =
MLA,
this is in section 4.10.14:

"You don't underline or enclose in quotation marks the titles of laws, =
acts,
and similar documents in either the text or the list of works =
cited...Such
titles are usually abbreviated, and the works are cited by sections, =
with
the years added if relevant..."

I had a teacher query this morning regarding MLA citations
and thought someone might know the answer to this.  How do
you cite the U.S. Constitution or the Declatation of
Independence?  Is there a format that is used for these
documents that is different from government publications?
