Louis L'Amour titles

I am once again in need of your advice and expertise.  My school is K - =
6th grade, and we have one Louis L'Amour title, Down the Long Hills, in =
our collection.  One of my 6th grade boys has requested more L'Amour =
titles, but I have very little experience with this author to guide me.  =
If possible, I would like to fulfill his request.   I am consulting book =
reviews, but would really like your valued input. =20

I posted a request from the elementary librarians in my district.  One =
said the violence was more suitable for junior high.  Another had 6 or 7 =
titles and never had any problems.  A third was interested in what I =
found out.

I have two questions:

1.  What are your feelings on these books for 6th graders? =20
2.  If you have any titles in your collection or that you have read, are =
there any  you would recommend?
