I subscribed to The World and I when I was at HS. I found the articles to be pretty balanced -- some conservative, some liberal, some in the middle. It covers a broad range of subjects from current events, perspectives on history, popular culture, the arts, literature.... I remember that there was almost always an article on science and religion or science and ethics which my science teachers always wanted. It was a great resource for teachers, but students didn't use it much. I think it was worth it for the support it gave the teachers.
